ELEPHANT ARRIVING POINT IN MUNNAR

Elephant Arriving Point a scenic glade near the Mattupetty reservoir, approximately 18 km from Munnar town on the way to Top Station. This place is used for film shooting locations due to its picturesque and lush green grass hills which are mainly attracted by wild elephants, so it is also called the wild elephant arriving spot. The area is characterized by elephant trails, dung, and the occasional sighting of elephants coming to drink or bathe.

The glade provides a glimpse into the elephants' natural environment. Tourists can observe elephants from a safe distance, capturing photos and enjoying the scenery. Besides observing, visitors can enjoy short elephant rides at Carmelagiri Elephant Park. Early morning or late afternoon are ideal for spotting elephants. There is no entry fee for the Elephant Arrival Spot itself.

You can stroll about the glade at any time of the day, but elephant-back rides are available only from 9 AM until 5 PM every day of the week.
There is no fee to enter the Elephant Arrival Spot, but the mahouts charge a token amount.
